What: Wisconsin is made up of many different people and cultures and we all know that our future is intricately tied to our past. It is always beneficial to have the knowledge of where we have been as we proceed to where we are going. This program will help girls explore and learn about the people, places and ideas that have helped shape our communities and the people who live in them; with a focus on Wisconsin. Value is placed on understanding the differences and similarities among peoples. This program is comprised of activities that will help girls learn about different aspects of American Heritage. Girls who complete the requirements will earn the American Heritage Patch to remind them of their journey through our heritage.
Who: All Girl Scout program levels can participate.
How: Activities are designed to help girls learn about people who have settled and lived in Wisconsin, enhance multicultural understanding, and explore how history relates to the future. The activities are separated into categories and each age level will need to complete a certain number of activities from each category as noted in the American Heritage Patch Program booklet. Patches will be available through the Trefoil Shop for $1.25 each.

Antiques and Collectibles Patch
Everyone is into antiques these days! Thrift shops, flea markets, garage sales, and our own attics are turning up treasures that teach us about our communities and our families and allow us to hold a piece of history in our hands. With the advent of antiquing into popular culture, and with the huge success of shows like the Antiques Road Show on PBS, even children are learning that objects can be both fascinating to learn about and quite profitable to own. This patch program encourages girls to discover this popular past time and to find their own niche in the world of collectibles. Patches are available in the Trefoil Shop at a cost of $1.25.
